    Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for a DevOps / Cloud Engineer to join our team!  The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, and operating a cloud environment where the latest geospatial capabilities are tested and evaluated for eventual fielding across many operating systems and platforms.

    An ideal candidate would excel at automating and maintaining a DevOps environment in the cloud using a variety of skills and knowledge related to Information Technology, Information Systems, and hardware.  The DevOps Engineer will constantly analyze and incorporate improvements to processes, procedures, and work-flows to reduce repetitiveness and ensure quality across all aspects of the cloud environment.  The candidate should be motivated, self-starting, and able to work well within a team environment where everyones success is shared.

    The DevOps Engineer will support customers in the Special Operations Command and primary duties will be carried out in our Fairfax office.  We use tailored Agile teams to work efficiently and to quickly communicate events to the team, customers, and company.  Take this opportunity to support an exciting and challenging platform to help our nation bring the best modern capabilities to our soldiers!

    Responsibilities

    DevOps Engineer Responsibilities

    • Design, configure, install, and maintain an enterprise-grade DevOps system in the cloud for testing the latest geospatial capabilities and concepts
    • Act independently to support the integration environment across a range of customers and stakeholders through excellent interdisciplinary knowledge of the systems that comprise it
    • Perform thorough technical analysis of complex integration and infrastructure challenges;  Document and recommend solutions to those challenges to the team and to customer stakeholders
    • Build a vast working knowledge of common off-the-shelf software products, APIs, and solutions in the geospatial market in order to ensure our customers are successful in their mission
    • Assist in technical planning, deployment, test & validation, and modernization of legacy software to meet the changing needs of today

    Qualifications

    DevOps Engineer Basic Qualifications

    • U.S. citizenship
    • Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one. TS/SCI clearance is preferred.  We will sponsor clearances if you do not have one.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
    • 3-6+ yrs. of related experience in the design, development, integration, and testing of projects with the following qualifications:
      • Software integration and application administration of complex computer systems including 3rd party software integration
      • Virtualization technologies (VMware, VirtualBox)
      • Web servers (httpd, IIS, Tomcat, JBOSS)
      • Software encryption (SSL/PKI)
      • Networking (IPv4, IPv6, TCP/UDP, LACP, VLAN, Cisco iOS)
      • Enterprise hardware (switches, RAID configurations, SAN/DAS/NAS, Fibre/NFS/iSCSI, blade/rackmount servers)

    DevOps Engineer Desired Skills

    • Fluency in a scripting language (Python, BASH, PowerShell, etc.)
    • Experience with geospatial domain tools (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Runtime, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, Google Earth, and GeoServer)
    • Configuration of cloud based computing platforms (Hadoop, Solr, Amazon Web Services, etc.)
    • Common DevOps containerization and orchestration tools (LXC, Vagrant, Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Broad database concepts, configuration, and usage (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, NoSQL)
    • Block and/or file-base storage solutions
    • Web Development (HTML5/CSS, JavaScript)
    • CompTIA Security+ Certification
