    Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for a talented and motivated Data Scientist with strong Software Engineering skills to join our team!  The candidate will be responsible for researching, developing, testing, and evaluating various datamining and machine learning techniques to solve challenging problems for the U.S. Army. 

    The Software Engineer will work closely with other researchers internally and within the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers to advance solutions for Army intelligence analysts to rapidly process, exploit, and disseminate critical information in support of other Warfighting functions. The candidate works as part of an agile software development team to design and rapidly prototype scalable solutions and must be motivated, self-starting, and able to work well within a team environment.

    Software Engineer - Machine Learning Responsibilities

    • Communicate with government customers and stakeholders
    • Design and build full stack application with modern technologies, intuitive user-interfaces and scalable data processing architectures using HTML5 and open source software
    • Rapidly prototype new methods for processing and exploiting data for Army Intel
    • Research and communicate state-of-art methods from industry, academia, and government
    • Evaluate and quantify trade-offs for competing methods and products
    • Mature solutions and transition applications from R&D to existing Programs of Record (PoRPoR)


    Software Engineer - Machine Learning Basic Qualifications

    • U.S. citizenship
    • Secret security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).  Prefer TS or TS/SCI.  We will sponsor clearances.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
    • 5-8 yrs. of related experience in:
      • Full Stack development
      • Data analytics and Machine Learning
      • Data and Natural Language Processing tools (e.g. Spark, Sci-kit Learn, OpenNLP, TensorFlow)
      • Analysis of algorithms, software, and software architectures
      • Experience with one or more of the following languages: C/C++, Java, Javascript, Python
      • Windows & Linux/Unix environments


    Software Engineer - Machine Learning Desired Skills

    • Masters or Phd in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
    • SCRUM Team leadership, product owner, or similar role on an Agile team
    • Technical leadership for a software development project
    • Web Application Development with Angular, Leaflet, Open Layers
    • REST APIs, or OGC web standards such as WFS and WMS
    • Databases (PostGIS, SQLite)
    • Geospatial Servers (GeoServer, MapServer)
    • Geospatial Data Processing (GDAL, OGR, PostGIS)
    • Graph analytics / Network science
    • Automated Testing Frameworks (JUnit, Mocha, QUnit)
    • Continuous Integration, Testing, and Deployment
