    Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for a talented and motivated Developer with strong Software Engineering skills to join our team!  The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing software architectures and ensuring efficient development among team members.  The Software Engineer will work to support the development, integration, and deployment of applications in a cloud environment using languages such as Java, Scala, and C++ on commercial platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).  The candidate should have a broad software engineering skillset with significant experience in developing applications in response to Intelligence Community & Department of Defense analysts needs.  Experience with scaling BigData systems and performance optimization are a key. By using their experience leading projects in a fast paced environment, the Software Engineer will work as part of an agile software development team to design and rapidly prototype scalable solutions. The candidate must be self-starting, able to work well within a team environment and motivated to deliver innovative capabilities that directly impact national security.  Exceptional communication skills are crucial as the candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior team members.

    Software Engineer Responsibilities

    • Communicate with government customers, stakeholders and team members
    • Design and build full stack application with modern technologies, intuitive user-interfaces and scalable data processing architectures using open source software
    • Deploy and maintain applications in AWS and other deployment environments as needed
    • Rapidly deliver capabilities in direct response to customer needs
    • Perform evaluations on applications and improve their accuracies and efficiencies
    • Maintain DevOps using modern CI/CD pipelines and tools like AWS, Jenkins, and Docker


    Software Engineer Basic Qualifications

    • U.S. citizenship
    • TS/SCI security clearance required
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
    • 5-8 yrs. of related experience in:
      • Full Stack development
      • Data analytics and Machine Learning tools (e.g. Spark, OpenCV, TensorFlow)
      • Analysis of algorithms, software, and software architectures
      • Strong Java or Scala development skills
      • Experience with one or more of the following languages: C/C++, Java, Javascript, Python
      • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
      • Software architecture design
      • Software systems engineering and testing
      • Development environment setup and management
      • Windows & Linux/Unix environments

    Software Engineer Desired Skills

    • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
    • Geospatial Data Processing (GDAL, OGR, PostGIS)
    • Continuous Integration, Testing, and Deployment
    • IC/DoD focused data science
    • NRO relevant data experience
    • User Experience (UX) design
    • Information assurance and security
