    Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our team to perform software development activities for our Intelligence customer.  As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing software architectures and ensuring efficient development among team members.  The Software Engineer will work to support the development, integration, and deployment of applications in a cloud environment using languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and C++ on commercial platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).  The candidate should have a broad range of knowledge in all stages for software development with significant experience in developing applications in response to Intelligence Community & Department of Defense analysts needs. 


    The Software Engineer will be leveraging commercial and open source data streams fused with classified intelligence to increase indications and warning (I&W) data and provide automated resource allocation and response options to include support for object detection.  By using their experience leading projects in a fast-paced environment, the Software Engineer will work as part of an agile software development team to design and rapidly prototype scalable solutions. The candidate must be self-starting, able to work well within a team environment and motivated to deliver innovative capabilities that directly impact national security.

    Software Engineer Responsibilities

    • Communicate with government customers, stakeholders and team members
    • Support and further development of an existing web viewer application in the Esri JavaScript API and other related technologies
    • Assist in the ingest of geospatial data including imagery, maps, charts, GIS feature data and integrated GIS data to the Sponsor's web applications
    • Assist in building geospatial and statistical analysis tools that identify spatial and temporal patterns in event data, threat analysis, and the creation of fused products to support intelligence in a spatial context
    • Rapidly deliver capabilities in direct response to customer needs


    Software Engineer Basic Qualifications & Skills

    • U.S. citizenship
    • TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
    • 5-8 yrs. of related experience in:
      • Full Stack development
      • Development, customization, and use of the full range of Esri GIS software products applied to intelligence analysis
      • ArcObjects, Python, and other Esri-compatible programming languages
      • Developing Javascript- and Flex-based geospatial applications
      • Developing and deploying geospatial web applications, including geoprocessing, vector, map, and imagery services
      • Using ArcGIS Server
      • Cloud systems such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
      • Data analytics and Machine Learning tools
    • Familiarity with open source geospatial tools

    Software Engineer Desired Qualifications & Skills

    • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
    • Geospatial Data Processing (GDAL, OGR, PostGIS)
    • Experience working within a software development or big data environment
    • IC/DoD focused data science
    • User Experience (UX) design
    • Information assurance and security
