  • Overview

    Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for an energetic Junior Software Engineer to join our team of Software Developers.  The Software Engineer will support ongoing development activities and work in and across development teams utilizing a flexible agile driven software development cycle to build and maintain complex Army systems.  Your ability to translate real-world needs into well-designed and developed software applications makes you an integral part of delivering our user-focused solutions. 


    As a Software Engineer on our team, you will help shape our customer’s mission by working side-by-side with other Software Engineers on a complex software and systems design engineering effort, and have wonderful opportunities to continue learning and contributing to real-world solutions that support global national security activities for our customers.


    You will work on an Army engineering and integration project in support of the Distributed Common Ground System – Army (DCGS-A), and the baseline improvement, technology insertion, and modernization efforts for Program Executive Office (PEO) Intelligence, Electronic Warfare & Sensors (IEWS) and System Integration Laboratory (SIL) I2WD facility at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG, MD).  This exciting project directly impacts our U.S. soldiers in the field, making them more safe and effective.


    Junior Software Engineer Responsibilities

    • Support the development of web-based applications that support the interaction with and visualization of intelligence information
    • Implement all phases of architecture, requirements gathering, design, development, integration, testing, and information assurance


    Junior Software Engineer Basic Qualifications & Skills

    • U.S. citizenship
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
    • 1-3 yrs. of related experience in one or more of the following areas:
      • Experience with ‘full stack’ web development in Java and Javascript
      • Designing, building, and using REST APIs
      • Continuous development and integration
      • OGC web standards such as WFS and WMS

    Junior Software Engineer Desired Qualifications & Skills

    • Secret security clearance (TS preferred)
    • Experience in one or more of the following:
      • Javascript (Dojo or Angular frameworks)
      • Geospatial Development (ArcGIS, Leaflet, Open Layers)
      • Geospatial Servers (ArcGIS Server, GeoServer)
      • Databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite)
      • Geospatial Data Processing (GDAL, OGR, PostGIS)
      • Familiarity with the NASA WorldWind map engine
