Overview

Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for a talented and motivated Junior Geospatial Analyst to join our team!  As a Junior Geospatial Analyst, you will perform a variety of analytical tasks, including; feature extraction, object detection, data normalization and terrain modeling using a wide variety of spatial source material including both vector and imagery data. Finished work product will include both cartographic output as well as written reports delivered to the relevant stakeholders.  The successful candidate for the Junior Geospatial Analyst will work on a team providing analysis, research and information management support. The Junior Geospatial Analyst may be required to provide surge support during critical incidents affecting the Nation’s security. Candidate will provide a broad range of Geospatial support functions in response to Intelligence Community & Department of Defense analyst’s needs.

 

The candidate must be self-starting, able to work well within a team environment and motivated to deliver innovative capabilities that directly impact national security. The ability to accurately, concisely and effectively communicate the results of complex analysis to mission stakeholders leveraging both written and cartographic mediums is critical.

Responsibilities

Junior Geospatial Analyst Responsibilities

 

  • Geospatial data management to include acquiring data from authoritative sources, establishing/maintaining geospatial databases, and optimizing datasets for analysis
  • Identify, analyze, order and assemble geospatial source materials including vector and raster imagery
  • Create relevant, repeatable, geospatial analysis models and tools to support analysis approach
  • Identify and integrate new geospatial and imagery exploitation techniques/methodologies to analysis approach
  • Utilize various GIS systems and tools as needed
  • Provide/maintain documentation and source material metadata
  • Establish and maintain GIS environment to include software packages, database, and tools/utilities

Qualifications

Junior Geospatial Analyst Basic Qualifications & Skills

 

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, geospatial information systems (GIS), computer science, or related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a geospatial background, knowledgeable of GIS software and technology preferred
  • Ability to independently conduct research and generate source packages
  • Knowledge in geospatial software packages including ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine
  • Knowledge in scripting batch geoprocesses with Open Source spatial libraries such as GDAL/OGR
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance preferred
