Overview

Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for a talented and motivated Software Test Engineer to join our team! The test engineer will support the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) division of the Distributed Common Ground System - Army (DCGS-A), Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) and other Army systems.

 

As a Test Engineer, you will work with the team to provide recommendations regarding DCGS-A and Mission Command (MC) systems related to requirements for upgrading test suites and procedures. Upgrades will address current and emerging requirements for testing and optimize integration testing, interoperability testing and unit testing for Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) applications, systems, services, and architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Software verification and validation, including test planning, development, execution, analysis, and associated documentation
  • Manages the planning, development, and implementation of procedures for the testing and evaluation
  • Define and develop test strategies, plans, procedures, and reports to meet the release schedule
  • Responsible for writing tests, executing those tests, and reporting & analyzing the results
  • Specifies tests to be performed, compiles data, and makes recommendations for changes required in testing equipment procedures, manufacturing processes, new testing requirements and/or design of testing equipment
  • Directs implementation of the enhancements, including documentation, instruction, and hands-on-training of others
  • Documents and analyzes test results, and makes recommendations to improve overall quality
  • Document and manage defect identification through resolution and closure

Qualifications

Test Engineer Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • TS required and TS/SCI Clearance preferred
  • 6-12 years of related experience
  • Quality Assurance Test Role / QA Methodology
  • Designs, constructs, and implements manual and automated tests that thoroughly exercises the product
  • Ensures that hardware/software under test implements the functionality specified in all approved requirement documents and that it performs as expected from the customers perspective
  • Hands-on testing, test observation, and developing test automation code/scripts
  • Supports bug reporting and tracking and software test processes
  • Writing of after-test reports for the customer
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Assesses system and software level requirement specifications, software design, interface design, test, and other development related documentation as needed
  • Experience with one or more of the following languages: JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Java, Python
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Atlassian Jira and Confluence)
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration (CI/CD) techniques, test-driven development, and automated testing practices
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Develops strong cooperative relationships with development, project management teams and manager to achieve end-to-end product quality
  • Coordinates testing activities for various projects

Test Engineer Desired Skills

  • Software and Functional requirements analysis to determine testability, and to develop test cases
  • Provide documentation of test architecture reports and Visio diagrams to illustrate current and future workflows, data flows, process flows, and logical models
  • Familiar with test automation tools (Selenium, NeoLoad, Postman, Gherkin/Cucumber, Jenkins)
  • Scripting languages (BASH, Perl, Python, Ruby, PowerShell)
  • Web servers (httpd, IIS, Tomcat, JBOSS)
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware, VirtualBox)
  • Database concepts and usage (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, NoSQL)
  • Software encryption (SSL/PKI)
  • Cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM, Rackspace)
  • Containerization (Docker, Linux containers, Jails)
  • Build and packaging tools (Apache ANT, Jenkins, Maven, RPM, Wix/MSI)
  • Linux experience
  • Knowledge of DCGS-A or Mission Command systems a plus
  • Knowledge of Esri software a plus
