Overview

Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for an expert in UI design, UX design, and front-end development to join our team! The UI Developer will support a Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Big Data and Machine Learning Analytics Project to enhance information processes, technical architectures and modernization of tools and techniques to support the mission.

 

As a UI Developer, you will provide the User Interface and Human Factors design, development, and maintenance of software applications critical to the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and other government agencies. This role is an expert on creating intuitive user interface design for analysts, targeters, and data scientists.

Responsibilities

UI Developer Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the user interface and user experience design, development and maintenance of software applications using a tailored SAFe Agile DevSecOps process
  • Responsible for applying interactive and visual design principles on websites and web applications for positive and cohesive user experience
  • Represent the product vision by researching, sketching, prototyping, and user-testing experiences for custom web applications
  • Create and maintain wireframes and prototypes of appropriate fidelity to clearly and effectively articulate workflows and designs
  • Identify design inconsistencies or challenges and devise user-centered solutions while effectively balancing business needs, technical constraints, and project schedules
  • Use best practices and patterns to perform design, development, automated testing, and automated deployment of software modules via DevSecOps Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
  • Software requirements analysis, risk identification, risk mitigation, and collaboration across Agile teams
  • Focused on creating intuitive user interface design for analysts, targeters, and data scientists
  • Plans and leads major technology assignments
  • Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others

Qualifications

UI Developer Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8-10 years of related experience and Industry recognized UI/UX certifications
  • Experienced in conducting research and deconstructing users’ digital interactions and habits
  • Experienced in creating UI strategies based on goals and objectives
  • Create and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups using design and prototyping tools
  • Design, build, and maintain highly reusable JavaScript, HTML and CSS code
  • A portfolio that demonstrates both JavaScript proficiency and understanding of solid design principles
  • Expert knowledge of CSS, CSS extension languages (Less, Sass), and CSS preprocessor tools
  • Expert knowledge of HTML5 and its best practices
  • Knowledge of user centered design principles and web usability standards
  • Knowledge of open-source libraries (e.g., React, Anglular, Leaflet, OpenLayers, Material UI, and Bootstrap)
  • Linux & Windows environments
  • Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Atlassian Jira and Confluence)
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration (CI/CD) techniques, test-driven development, and automated testing practices
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

UI Developer Desired Skills

  • Masters or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment and agile processes
  • Experience working with government as a federal IT contractor
  • Experience working with architects and developers to create micro-services and applications for consumption by the UX, and collaborating with the creative team to develop, and iterate over functionality
  • Familiar with open web interface standards (e.g., Open GIS Consortium (OGC))
  • Familiar with DIA systems (GALE, FISHNet, FounDRI, and Crowd Source Analytics)
