Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for a talented and motivated Intermediate level Software Engineer that is passionate about technology and the mission of our customers to join our team! This individual will work as part of an agile software development team to translate real-world needs into technical specifications making you an integral part of delivering customer focused engineering solutions.


RGi is supporting US Army's Technology Enabled Analytics program initiative focused on the development and integration of cloud-based technologies to provide highly adaptable, available and scalable forward-deployed intelligence analysis capabilities to the modern US Army soldier. The specific elements of this support will include the development of emerging concepts, advanced research and prototyping, identification of state-of-the-art technologies, performing analysis of alternatives, technology insertion / exploitation, integration of the possible capabilities and services to support the proof-of-concepts, new pilot efforts, existing programs, and/or fielded systems.  


The work supporting this role will be performed at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD or within our Fairfax, Va offices and could include infrequent local travel within the Northern Virginia / Maryland / Washington D.C. region.  Successful candidates must be a U.S. citizen and must have an active TS-SCI level Security Clearance.

Software Engineer - Intermediate Responsibilities

  • Operate as a critical Agile Scrum Team Member
  • Participate in the customer defined development plan producing work products to support processes as needed
  • Support the continuous improvement of the software development process through the performance of root cause analysis (CI/CD)
  • Design, development, implementation and maintenance of systems, software, custom applications, and data integration solutions with a focus on desktop, web-based, and cloud-based applications.
  • Support infrastructure and deployment team in high-side environment
  • Rapidly prototype new methods for processing and exploiting data
  • Design and implement automated testing procedures in an enviroment of continuous integration and delivery to the client
  • Research and communicate state-of-art methods from industry, academia, and government


Software Engineer Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Active TS-SCI Security Clearance
  • BS Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical fields
  • Significant professional experience also considering in lieu of a four-year degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of complex experience in most of the following:
    • Full Stack development
    • Experience working in an Agile development environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
    • Experience in Microsoft .NET (desktop and web), C#, VB.NET, Python, Web Services, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Specific experience in:
      • computer simulation
      • enterprise architectures
      • advanced networking techniques adn protocols
      • databases (spatial and other)
    • Experience creating cloud-based distributed product delivery environments
    • Experience the migration of applications to cloud-based environments
    • Experience with CI/CD processes
    • Familiarity with source control practices an dsoftware such as GitHub and SourceTree
    • Must have the analytical and interpersonal skills to elicit and document business, functional, and technical requirements
    • Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of technical issues
    • Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment
    • Ability to understand and interpret business application and is responsible for developing application and products to fulfill those responsibilities
