Overview

Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is looking for a talented and motivated Systems Engineer that is passionate about technology and the mission of our customers to join our team! This individual will work as part of an agile software development team to translate real-world needs into technical specifications making them an integral part of delivering customer focused engineering solutions.

 

The work supporting this role will be performed at the Northern VA located customer site or within our Fairfax, Va offices and could include infrequent local travel within the Northern Virginia / Maryland / Washington D.C. region.  Successful candidates must be a U.S. citizen and must have an active TS-SCI level Security Clearance.

 

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with a solid IT background that wants to help us drive our customer and company missions forward. Candidate must be self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to balance multiple-simultaneous tasks in order to keep pace with our team of high performers.

Responsibilities

Systems Engineer Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for system design, development, architecture, and integration of in-house and third-party developed software packages into the baseline
  • Design, implement, maintain, and upgrade the continuous integration environment utilized by the software development team, through upgrades and implementation of new features (CI/CD)
  • Conduct technical analysis of complex installation and integration challenges while recommending and documenting both solutions and analysis
  • Provide input to design and development teams, and monitor progress and productivity through the use of metrics
  • Design and implement automation scripts
  • Maintain systems via patching, software updates, and upgrades

Qualifications

Systems Engineer Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Active TS-SCI Security Clearance
  • BS Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical fields
  • Significant professional experience also considering in lieu of a four-year degree
  • Experience with most of the following:
    • Software integration, troubleshooting, and application administration of systems integration in Windows and Linux environments
    • Implementing systems with complex networking and security requirements
    • Basic network troubleshooting for client / server applications
    • Ability to think critically and analytically in an enterprise environment

Systems Engineer Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Experience with the following technologies and/or concepts:
    • Scripting languages (Bash, Powershell, Python, Perl)
    • Virtualization and hypervisors (vSphere, KVM, ESXi, Hyper-V)
    • Containerization frameworks (Docker, Kybernetes, Puppet)
    • Active Directory
  • Familiarity with cloud frameworks; AWS, OpenStack, Azure, etc.
  • Certifications: Network+, Security+,  CEH or CISSP
  • Enterprise server hardware maintenance
