Overview

RGi is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to define and implement the strategy driving multiple development projects to meet user needs, technical capabilities, and long term objectives. Candidate plays a significant role in the planning, requirements analysis, and design phase of project software development life cycles. Candidate works closely with the customer to own and prioritize the team backlog and works with the customer to define the releases. Candidate will work closely with executive leadership in the company.

The Solutions Architect has a significant role in maximizing the value produced by the team and ensuring user’s needs are met. The Solutions Architect serves as a single point of contact for understanding customer requirements and expectations from the product. The Solutions Architect will work with customers to define and create product roadmaps, manage and prioritize product backlogs, prioritize needs, oversee development, and evaluate product progress and quality at each iteration. The Solutions Architect coordinates between customers and agile development teams, working closely with Project Managers, Development Leads, and Scrum Masters to implement strategic vision and streamline the execution of program priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with CTO and CGO on future development ideas and objectives
  • Engage stakeholders in critical discussion, complex new product development discovery, and building consensus
  • Understands and communicates customers needs, vision and strategy with agile team
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, other POs, and engineers utilizing agile processes during product planning and delivery
  • Manage and direct teams of software/hardware/system development teams in full software development lifecycle
  • Architect solution, deployment and management strategies within project scope and beyond
  • Facilitate and support continuous improvement within the team
  • Help identify and mitigate technical risk
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on deliverables that affect team goals
  • Oversees the management of component/service-level requirements and traceability to design documentation, test cases, and operational training materials
  • Creates system-level functional flows using a system engineering model-based framework (such as Solutions or Enterprise Architect) with an ability to frame all requirements inside those flows
  • Creates appropriate measures aligned with customers needs to demonstrate product effectiveness
  • Makes contributions to the enterprise vision, engineering processes, and overall architecture roadmap

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT related field
  • 10+ years experience in customer-facing roles and 5+ years leading and managing software development teams
  • Strong technical acumen, with architect experience, and the abilitly to work at multiple levels of depth
  • Previous experiencing leading software teams and cloud efforts
  • Broad technology experience including: cloud architecture, applications development, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, machine learning, networking, security, storage, DevOps, containers, serverless, CI/CD, management and monitoring, cloud migrations, IT transformation.
  • Must be organized, flexible and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be analytical, possess excellent communication, presentation skills and have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Must be comfortable interacting with staff at all levels within the organization, and in providing recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to convey complex subjects at all levels
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task

Desired Skills

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Product Development/Management certification
  • 6 months working in a SAFe enterprise
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment while owning multiple priorities
  • Ability to translate complex information into actionable requirements
  • Strong problem solver with sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Full knowledge of modern development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Test Driven Development)
  • Experience using native AWS or Azure services balance scale, cost and efficiency (to include cost estimation of services)
  • 3+ years as a Solutions Architect
  • Experience with and understanding of IL5 and IL6 Cloud environments
  • Experience with DoDAF Architecture Framework
  • Experience as a Technical Volume lead for federal government proposals
  • Understanding of geospatial technologies and principles
